QAHE Supports Sustainable Development Goals 4 and 17

Apr 17, 2025

The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) reaffirms its commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 4 and 17, emphasizing the importance of inclusive and equitable quality education and fostering global partnerships for sustainable development. In light of this commitment, QAHE invites its partners and accredited institutions to join in this crucial mission to enhance educational access and quality worldwide.

QAHE recognizes that education is a fundamental right and a powerful tool for social transformation. By supporting SDG 4, we aim to break down barriers to education, ensuring that all individuals, regardless of their background, have access to high-quality learning opportunities. Simultaneously, we acknowledge the importance of SDG 17, which calls for collaboration and partnerships to achieve sustainable development goals. Together, we can create innovative solutions that empower learners in diverse contexts.

In our efforts to promote quality education globally, QAHE offers internationally recognized accreditation to a wide range of educational institutions. This includes not only traditional schools and universities but also distance learning institutions, reflecting the evolving landscape of education in the digital age. QAHE has established Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with several key organizations in the distance learning sector, including:

- Brazilian Association of Distance Education (ABED)
- Tamilnadu Council for Open and Distance Learning, India
- Distance, Open and e-Learning Practitioners’ Association of East Africa

These partnerships enhance our ability to provide support and resources to distance learning institutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of quality and effectiveness.

QAHE encourages institutions that have not yet obtained our accreditation to consider the benefits of joining our network. Accreditation not only enhances institutional credibility but also demonstrates a commitment to educational excellence and continuous improvement. By becoming accredited, institutions can gain recognition on an international scale, attract diverse learners, and contribute to the global educational community.

We invite all educational stakeholders to collaborate with QAHE in promoting SDGs 4 and 17. By working together, we can create a more equitable and accessible educational environment for all learners. Join us in our mission to empower individuals through quality education and sustainable partnerships.
