The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) has been featured in a USA Today press release titled “Private Institutions Seek Second International Quality Review Amid Rising Cross-Border Demand,” published on 14 October 2026. The release is available at https://www.usatoday.com/press-release/story/50433/private-institutions-seek-second-international-quality-review-amid-rising-cross-border-demand/.
The release reports that private schools, colleges and online providers already registered with national authorities are increasingly requesting an additional international review of their operations. QAHE’s institutional review examines legal identity, admissions, assessment, complaints handling, and the consistency between public information and actual provision. The same criteria are applied to campus-based and fully online providers. Committees request a registration extract, programme overview, study regulations, assessment policy, complaints procedure and quality-review log. Application materials are available at https://www.qahe.org/accreditation-membership-form/.
QAHE has listed more than 400 institutions, with listings and renewals published on its website at https://www.qahe.org/. The association reports more than twenty memoranda of understanding with quality-assurance bodies and education organisations, detailed at https://www.qahe.org/partnership-and-recognition/. These include arrangements with the National Agency for Quality Assurance in Education and Research (ANACEC) in Moldova, the Foundation for International Business Administration Accreditation (FIBAA) in Germany, the Eurasian Centre for Accreditation and Quality Assurance (ECAQA) in Kazakhstan, and the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization.
Amb. Prof. Dr Stéphane NARCIS, QAHE Honorary President, is quoted as saying: “QAHE plays a vital role in strengthening global education quality, enabling institutions and professionals to benchmark, improve, and excel on an international stage.” Dr. Davide Morelli, QAHE Honorary Head Auditor, has noted that through QAHE’s international framework, institutions worldwide can strengthen their quality practices and connect with global best practice communities.
The release also records that QAHE awarded Preah Sihamoniraja Buddhist University (PSBU) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia the Excellence in Education Award 2026–2027 on 5 October 2026. PSBU, established in 2004 and under the supervision of Cambodia’s Ministry of Cult and Religions, already holds accreditation from the Accreditation Committee of Cambodia (ACC). QAHE first accredited PSBU in March 2024 and later renewed its institutional listing.
