
The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE) is proud to announce the appointment of Professor Abbas Ay Taher as QAHE Honorary Auditor. This prestigious designation reflects Professor Taher’s exceptional contributions to global healthcare education, surgical innovation, and academic leadership.
With over 45 years of distinguished service in Oral and Maxillo-Facial Surgery, Professor Taher has performed more than 20,000 surgical procedures and mentored postgraduate students across Iraq, the United Kingdom, Iran, and the United States. His career spans numerous high-level academic and clinical roles, including his current position as Professor and Acting Dean at the College of Dentistry, IU Najaf, Iraq, and Visiting Professor at Tehran University of Medical Sciences.
Professor Taher’s academic credentials are extensive, encompassing fellowships and certifications from leading institutions such as the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the American College of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Chartered Management Institute (UK). He holds advanced degrees in dentistry, surgery, pain management, healthcare leadership, and business administration, and is fluent in Arabic, English, and Persian.
As Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Contemporary Medical Sciences and a member of multiple editorial boards, Professor Taher has authored over 100 peer-reviewed publications and contributed to internationally recognized medical texts. His clinical expertise includes craniofacial trauma, cleft lip and palate repair, TMJ disorders, orthognathic surgery, and pain management.
