QAHE Announces the Award of the QAHE Presidential Award to Professor Sandro Nuno Ferreira de Serpa

QAHE is pleased to announce that Professor Sandro Nuno Ferreira de Serpa has been awarded the QAHE Presidential Award in recognition of his outstanding academic leadership, scholarly contribution, and long-standing commitment to higher education. His career reflects a deep dedication to teaching, research, and service within the social sciences and education.

Professor Serpa is an Associate Professor in the Department of Sociology at the University of the Azores, where he has served for many years. He holds a PhD in Education, specialising in Sociology of Education, and is an integrated researcher at the Interdisciplinary Centre of Social Sciences of the Azores.

Throughout his distinguished academic journey, Professor Serpa has contributed extensively to research, publication, academic supervision, and institutional development. His work covers sociology of education, organisations, scientific communication, digital society, and artificial intelligence, and his publication record includes books, book chapters, journal articles, and conference papers across a wide range of international academic outlets.

In addition to his research and teaching, Professor Serpa has played an active role in academic leadership and quality enhancement through service on scientific boards, editorial boards, evaluation committees, and university governance bodies.
