The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) is proud to announce the appointment of Mr. Kennedy Mwansa, President of the Zambian Open Private Schools Association (ZOPSA), as an Honorary Fellow of QAHE.
Mr. Mwansa's leadership in ZOPSA has been instrumental in advocating for the inclusion of private schools in Zambia's educational landscape. ZOPSA acknowledges the Zambian government's commendable efforts, particularly the 'Education for All' policy which promotes free education, the expansion of student loans, and the construction of new school infrastructure. Furthermore, the recruitment of qualified teachers has been a significant focus, with 30,496 teachers recruited in 2022, 7,222 in 2023, and a planned addition of 4,200 in 2024. These initiatives are vital steps towards addressing the high teacher-pupil ratio and enhancing the quality of education in Zambia.
As a key partner in the educational sector, ZOPSA advocates for a Public-Private Dialogue (PPD) that includes private institutions. This collaboration aims to create a unified approach to educational challenges, ensuring that all stakeholders contribute effectively to the improvement and sustainability of the country's education system.
QAHE is excited to welcome Mr. Mwansa as an Honorary Fellow, recognizing his dedication and contributions to advancing educational quality in Zambia. We look forward to the positive impact of his involvement in our mission to promote excellence in education worldwide.
