
The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE) and the American University of Business and Social Sciences (AUBSS) are pleased to announce that Michael Anthony Tharkur has been awarded the Doctor of Economics and Public Policy (Honoris Causa).

Mr. Tharkur is a highly accomplished macroeconomist with extensive high-level advisory and policy experience at the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Throughout his distinguished career, he has provided technical leadership on policy design and programme implementation, supported governments under IMF-supported frameworks, and played a key role in strengthening institutional capacity for economic planning and public financial management in emerging and low-income countries.
Through this prestigious honour, QAHE and AUBSS celebrate Mr. Tharkur’s exceptional ability to translate complex economic analysis into practical, actionable strategies for senior policymakers, thereby contributing significantly to economic stability, good governance, and sustainable development across the globe.
