Marilee Bresciani Ludvik, Ph.D. is the Director of Academic Effectiveness and WSCUC ALO, as well as a Professor of Practice at the University of San Diego. She previously held positions as Associate Provost of Institutional Effectiveness at Loyola University Chicago and Clinical Professor in the School of Education. Additionally, she served as Chair and Tenured Professor of the Educational Leadership and Policy Studies department at the University of Texas Arlington.Dr. Ludvik’s research focuses on using social and emotional neuroscience to reduce stress and anxiety while enhancing attention, emotion regulation, cognitive flexibility, and compassion. Her work informs both in-class and out-of-class learning and assessment designs that aim to close equity gaps and improve career readiness.Dr. Ludvik has authored 12 books and published over 200 scholarly articles. Her contributions to the field have been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the International Association for Student Personnel Pillar of the Profession Award (2012), the George Kuh Award for Outstanding Contribution to Literature/Research in Higher Education (2013), the American College Personnel Administrators Diamond Honoree (2016), the UNESCO/MGIEP Senior Research Fellow (2017), and the Robert H. Shaffer Award for Academic Excellence as a Graduate Faculty Member (2019)
