Faculty of Dentistry at Al-Turath University

May 15, 2025 The Faculty of Dentistry at Al-Turath University was established in 2018, serving as an academic extension of the university, which was originally founded in 1988. The Faculty is dedicated to advancing dental education and fostering clinical excellence, aligning with the university's broader mission of promoting innovation and academic distinction in Iraq. Since its inception, the Faculty has made significant strides in enhancing the quality of dental education and research.

To support its educational goals, the Faculty of Dentistry provides a comprehensive range of resources for students. The facility features a fully equipped medical and dental library that offers a wide selection of up-to-date textbooks, reference materials, academic journals, and electronic databases. Additionally, high-speed internet access and computer laboratories are available, facilitating online research and the use of specialized dental software. These resources empower students to engage in independent study and academic exploration.

The Faculty is also equipped with modern pre-clinical and clinical laboratories that house advanced dental simulation units and research-grade equipment. This state-of-the-art infrastructure enables students to develop practical skills and participate in experimental work, enhancing their hands-on learning experience. To further promote flexible learning, students are provided with both printed and electronic copies of lectures and educational materials, allowing them to study at their own pace.

The leadership team of the Faculty of Dentistry comprises experienced professionals committed to academic excellence. Dr. Tahani Abdulaziz Al-Sandook serves as the Dean, supported by Vice Dean for Scientific Affairs Prof. Abdulkareem Alazawi Jaseem and Vice Dean for Administrative Affairs Dr. Salah Abdul Mahdi Ismail. The leadership is further strengthened by department heads, including Dr. Saad Yassin Nouri for Prosthodontics and Prof. Dr. Rajaa Hadi Abbas for Oral Diagnosis and Pathology, each contributing to the Faculty's mission.
