Hiew Boon Thong Receives Distinguished Professorship in Leadership and Management

We are thrilled to announce that Hiew Boon Thong has been awarded the prestigious Distinguished Professorship in Leadership and Management, a recognition jointly conferred by the American University of Business and Social Sciences (AUBSS) and the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE).

Hiew Boon Thong’s remarkable career spans over three decades in the Royal Malaysian Police force, where he achieved the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP). His dedication and exceptional service earned him numerous accolades, including Service Medals and the Excellent Service Award in 2008. After retiring from the police force, he transitioned into the corporate sector as Managing Director of two prominent oil palm companies, further showcasing his leadership abilities and business acumen.

Beyond his professional achievements, Hiew Boon Thong has made significant contributions to the community through his active involvement in religious and social initiatives. He has organized large-scale Buddhist activities over the past 40 years, including the celebrated Buddha Day (Wesak Day) celebrations in Sabah. As the Founder and Chairman of several Buddhist associations, he has played a pivotal role in promoting Buddhist teachings and fostering spiritual growth.

Hiew Boon Thong’s academic pursuits are equally impressive. He holds two doctorate degrees and two Master’s degrees, continuously seeking knowledge and personal growth. Currently, he is working towards a third Doctorate in Business Administration and a third Master’s in Buddhist Studies. His commitment to lifelong learning exemplifies the qualities of a true leader.
