The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) is pleased to announce that the Appalachian School of Theology (AST) has successfully renewed its institutional accreditation. This renewal reaffirms the institution’s ongoing commitment to maintaining high standards of educational quality, academic integrity, and student-centred theological training.
Located in Nickelsville, Virginia, USA, the Appalachian School of Theology is a religious institution dedicated to providing practical, affordable, and accessible theological education. Exempt from state regulation and oversight in the Commonwealth of Virginia, AST serves pastors, youth leaders, teachers, preachers, small-group leaders, and individuals seeking deeper biblical understanding and ministry preparation. The school offers a clear progression of degree programmes, including the Associate Degree in Theology (AA), Bachelor’s Degree in Theology (BTh), Master’s Degree in Theology (MTh), and Doctor of Theology (ThD).
AST combines academic rigor with spiritual formation through a hybrid learning model that integrates in-person classes and Zoom-based online instruction.
