The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary & Higher Education (QAHE) is pleased to announce that Mhlabuhlangene Academy of Professional Studies has been awarded institutional accreditation.
Mhlabuhlangene Academy of Professional Studies focuses on the education and training of traditional healers and professionals in African traditional medicine and related fields. Its work centres on the preservation of indigenous knowledge, the development of practical skills in African healing practices, and the preparation of practitioners for community-based service.
The institution holds QCTO accreditation as a Skills Development Provider. According to the official accreditation letter issued by the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations, Mhlabuhlangene School of African Medicine (Pty) Ltd is accredited under Accreditation Number 05-QCTO/SDP240526113353 to offer the Occupational Certificate: Christian Religious Professional (NQF Level 05, ID or OFO Code 101571, 237 credits). The accreditation is valid from 15 May 2026 to 14 January 2027, or until the expiry of the qualification or de-accreditation, whichever comes first. The letter confirms that a site inspection of the institution’s premises was conducted as part of the accreditation process.
The QAHE review examined the institution’s organisational structure, leadership, and educational arrangements, including its QCTO-accredited occupational programme. The award of QAHE accreditation affirms that the institution’s processes meet QAHE’s standards for institutional quality assurance. QAHE accreditation does not constitute the authority to grant qualifications; it serves as a quality assurance process confirming that the institution’s educational offerings meet established standards of excellence.
Mhlabuhlangene Academy of Professional Studies is now listed among QAHE-accredited institutions. Further details are available on the QAHE website at www.qahe.org. QAHE congratulates the institution on the award of accreditation.
