The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) is pleased to announce that Al Munawwara Islamic School (AMIS) has renewed its QAHE institutional accreditation. The renewal follows a further review of the school as a recognised basic-education provider in Davao City, Philippines, and confirms that AMIS remains listed as a QAHE-accredited institution.
AMIS is a private Islamic school offering complete basic education from Kindergarten 1 to Grade 12. It follows the Department of Education’s K–12 framework and a refined standard Madrasah curriculum, with an educational approach the school describes as grounded in the Qur’an and Sunnah and directed toward academic achievement, character and well-rounded development. The school’s published purpose is to enable students to learn fi al-dunyā wa al-ākhirah — in this world and for the hereafter — while preparing them to meet contemporary educational demands.
The school opened in 2008 in connection with the implementation of the 1996 Peace Agreement between the Moro National Liberation Front and the Government of the Republic of the Philippines, after DepEd Order No. 51, Series of 2004, invited traditional madrasahs to become pilot private madrasahs. AMIS was among the participating schools and became the first private Islamic school in Davao City duly recognised by the Department of Education. It began with Kindergarten, Preparatory and Grade 1, including an early-childhood programme and an accelerated Islamic studies pathway for transfer students, and later expanded to a full K–12 offering. The campus is at Rodriguez Street, Bugac, Ma-a Road, Davao City, Davao del Sur.
AMIS also cites recognition from the American Council of Training and Development (ACTD-USA) and reports PEAC full-compliance certification for its junior high school. Those are the school’s own published credentials.
QAHE congratulates Al Munawwara Islamic School on the renewal. Accreditation remains time-limited and subject to continued compliance, public information that matches the approved file, and QAHE’s ordinary renewal process. QAHE accreditation is a quality-assurance review.
