Sep 08, 2026

The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) has been featured in Vanguard in an article titled “Festus Uwakhemen Asikhia earns International QAHE Associate Membership,” published on 27 June 2026. The piece is available at https://www.vanguardngr.com/2026/06/festus-uwakhemen-asikhia-earns-international-qahe-associate-membership/.

Vanguard reports that Prof. Festus Uwakhemen Asikhia was admitted as an Associate Member of QAHE for the 2026–2027 membership cycle, with the admission issued on 26 June 2026. The newspaper presents the membership as recognition of work in education, institutional governance and quality assurance, and as placing him among professionals concerned with educational standards and ethical leadership.

The Vanguard profile records Professor Asikhia as an academic, entrepreneur and public-affairs advocate, and as founder and chief executive of Festrut Group. It gives his origin as Uzebba, Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State, and lists studies including a Diploma in Engineering; a Bachelor of Science in Sociology from Ambrose Alli University; master’s degrees in social work and in human resource management from Ladoke Akintola University of Science and Technology; an LL.M. from Liverpool John Moores University; a PhD in Health Management from Universidad Empresarial de Costa Rica; and postdoctoral study in psychology at Atlantic International University, together with executive programmes at Yale University and Stanford University School of Medicine.

The article notes his roles as Professor of Governance and Leadership at Atlantic International University, Honorary Director at Pebble Hills University, and Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Corporate Governance) at Citiedge University, as well as professional affiliations in social work, public health and real estate. It refers to published work on governance, leadership and business psychology and to his 2023 contest for the Federal Capital Territory Senate seat on the platform of the Zenith Labour Party.

QAHE welcomes Vanguard’s report of the Associate Membership. The scope of that membership should be read exactly. Associate Membership is a personal affiliation for the 2026–2027 cycle. It is not institutional accreditation of Festrut Group, Atlantic International University, Pebble Hills University, Citiedge University, or any other organisation named in the profile. It does not constitute authority to grant qualifications and does not replace national licensing or professional-board recognition.

Institutions that hold QAHE institutional accreditation are listed, by exact name, at https://www.qahe.org/list-of-accredited-institutions/. Individual members appear under QAHE’s individual-membership arrangements. The two statuses should not be combined.

QAHE congratulates Professor Asikhia on the membership reported by Vanguard and thanks the newspaper for the announcement. Further information is available at www.qahe.org.
