Dorothy Buragohain is a seasoned higher education administrator with over 12 years of experience in university governance, accreditation, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance. She currently serves as Deputy Registrar at The Assam Kaziranga University, Jorhat, Assam, where she oversees academic governance, student lifecycle management, examination administration, and institutional compliance with national regulatory frameworks.
Throughout her career, Ms. Buragohain has demonstrated strong expertise in managing NAAC accreditation processes, IQAC operations, NIRF rankings, AISHE submissions, and compliance with UGC, AICTE, PCI, and other statutory bodies. She has successfully led documentation and coordination efforts for NAAC peer team visits and has contributed significantly to institutional quality enhancement initiatives aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. Her previous roles include Manager – Quality Assurance & Accreditation at Adamas University and senior positions in the Registrar’s Office at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies (UPES), Dehradun.
A proactive contributor to institutional governance, Ms. Buragohain has served on several important committees, including the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), Board of Management, and Finance Committee. She has also been actively involved in developing institutional policies, quality manuals, annual reports, and student handbooks. In addition to her administrative responsibilities, she has teaching experience as an Affiliated Faculty in Management, where she taught Human Resource Management to MBA students and led international immersion programmes.
Ms. Buragohain holds an MBA in Telecommunication Management with a specialization in Marketing from Amity University, Noida, and a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electronics & Communication Engineering from Visvesvaraya Technological University. She regularly participates in professional development programmes, including workshops on NIRF rankings and NEP 2020 orientation.
