
We are pleased to announce that Frontier University (FU) has been awarded accreditation by the International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) for both its Main Campus located at 45-Difer Road, Banadir, Mogadishu, and its Garowe Campus on 1st August, Global Street, Garowe, Puntland, Somalia. This achievement reflects the university's unwavering commitment to providing high-quality education and fostering a conducive learning environment.
Established in late 2011, Frontier University has made significant strides in delivering a wide range of industry-relevant programs at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Currently, the university enrolls thousands of students across Somalia, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required for success in various fields. FU is dedicated to producing qualified graduates with strong leadership and communication abilities, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the modern workforce.
The Garowe Campus, inaugurated in 2019, comprises seven main faculties: Agriculture & Natural Sciences, Education, Engineering & Computer Science, Economics, Management & Social Sciences, Medicine & Health Sciences, and Security Studies, Justice and Ethics, and Sharia & Law. Each faculty offers specialized courses designed to develop both technical capacities and essential soft skills, such as analytical thinking, leadership, and social competencies. This multi-faceted approach aims to create graduates who can contribute positively to Somalia's development and beyond.
Both campuses are equipped with state-of-the-art facilities to enhance the educational experience. The Mogadishu Campus features 22 classrooms and the Garowe Campus has 20, each accommodating 30-40 students and equipped with multimedia projectors and whiteboards. Each campus also boasts specialized research laboratories, including science, medical, ICT, and engineering labs, which support applied research and practical learning.
In addition to classrooms and laboratories, the campuses provide dedicated computer suites 40 workstations at Garowe and 50 at Mogadishu—along with practice rooms for health sciences and education programs. The libraries at both campuses offer extensive print and digital collections, including access to online journals, ensuring students have the resources they need for their studies.
Student support services are a cornerstone of Frontier University’s mission. Both campuses feature common rooms designed for social interaction and group study, along with counseling rooms that provide academic and psychological support.
