Announcement of Honorary Professorship in Library and Information Science

The International Association for Quality Assurance in Pre-Tertiary and Higher Education (QAHE) is delighted to announce the joint awarding of the Honorary Professorship in Library and Information Science to Dr. N. M. Karannagoda in collaboration with Kennedy University (KU). Dr. Karannagoda currently serves as the Senior Assistant Librarian (Systems and IT) at the Main Library of the University of Colombo, Sri Lanka. With extensive experience in postgraduate education, he has taught Ph.D., MPhil, and Master’s programs across several faculties at the university. His academic journey also includes notable positions at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura and General Sir John Kotelawala Defense University, where he made significant strides in academic development.

An accomplished scholar, Dr. Karannagoda holds a B.Sc. Special Honours degree in accounting and a Ph.D. in Library and Information Science from the IIC University of Technology in Cambodia. He has authored eight books and numerous academic publications, highlighting his commitment to advancing knowledge in his field. His expertise spans library science, education, accounting, and public management, making him a distinguished figure in academia.

At the University of Colombo, Dr. Karannagoda plays a vital role in various initiatives, including quality assurance and policy development related to plagiarism and AI. He is also actively involved in national research projects that explore important topics, such as the impact of chess on academic performance and the trends in AI usage in scholarly publications.
